President & CEO
Matt has over 20 years’ experience in the construction and development business. Matt has been involved in every facet of construction from a very early age in life…starting as a young laborer for a family construction business.
Matt developed Front Light Building Co. out of a need in the market of ‘how can we make it easier to build a home.’
Too many times, customers become frustrated with trying to make decisions when building a home. Matt strives to make the Front Light Building Co. process more efficient and effective through his use of an integrated team and in-house design center. He is committed to delivering quality products at affordable pricing. As the leader of Front Light Building Co., Matt has a broad range of operational responsibilities including identifying investment opportunities, acquisitions, leadership, financial management, sales, and marketing. Matt believes in the entrepreneurial spirit and always wants Front Light Building Co. to adhere to those principles of constantly creating innovation within the company.
Matt is also the owner of JCM Ventures, LLC, and was responsible for the planning and development of Buckwalter Place Town Center in Bluffton, SC. Matt began his career as an accountant for Arthur Anderson. His desire to start a career in real estate led him to leave the industry and join Bennett Development, a real estate development firm in the greater Boston area. As Project Manager working on various residential real estate development projects, he had responsibility for planning and feasibility studies, acquisitions, permitting all projects, and running the daily operations of the company. In 2004, Matt left Bennett Development to found Live Oak Group, LLC and shortly thereafter Live Oak Property Group, LLC and JCM Ventures, LLC.
Matt is very involved in the community with his kids’ schools, the local Chamber of Commerce, and other various boards. He chairs the Don Ryan Center for Innovation and was one of the founders of this public-private partnership focusing on creating sustainable economic growth for the region.
Matt was born and raised in Shadyside, Ohio. He received a BA in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross and attended Linsly Military Institute for high school. Matt and his wife Jennifer have three children: Claire, Madelyn, and Logan.
